Moving On
(Gallery 6
is moving!)
When Gallery 6 and the Butler’s Pantry
formed a partnership almost 5 years ago, we had no idea what Gallery 6 would
eventually become. Initially the idea
was that we would have a little wall space to exhibit our art and possibly sell
one of our works now and again. Needless to say, it ended up being quite a ride
– a surprising and delightful one at that.
Over the years, Gallery 6 has expanded to
become a full-fledged art gallery, exhibiting not only our own work but also that
of more than 100 local artists and artisans.
Gallery 6 has hosted art openings and juried competitions, offered art
lessons and photography classes, and participated in local celebrations such as
Earth Day and the Dandelion Festival. We
have also encouraged other artists and supported art of all mediums in our
neighbourhood. All during this time,
the steadfast support and encouragement of our patrons has been
gratifying. Watching new artists, young
and old, develop, grow and find their artistic voices has been a delight. Seeing interest in art grow and flourish in
our community has made all of our efforts worthwhile. We thank Terry Butler for all he has done as
well as all those who have supported local artists and have shopped at Gallery
6.
Gallery 6 is not disappearing though! For one thing, Gallery 6 intends to continue
exhibiting in the North Grenville Municipal Centre lobby. And you can visit us
at the gallery until the end of the Dandelion Festival in May and then at the
North Gower Farmers’ Market in the big Red Barn on Roger Stevens Drive,
Saturday mornings from May 28 to October 8 from 8:30 to 1:00 p.m. We’re looking forward to seeing you and we’re
always open to new ideas.
